Type Based Illustration Project Statement

For my Type Based Illustration project I am using a producer and artist by the name of Kanye West, who has inspired me to do what I do as a musician. His influential sound and unique approach to music is what keeps me motivated in a time where music has lost a lot of­­ its valuable content. I chose to do a color photograph of Mr. West because I think doing a black and white photo is too limited. Bringing color into this assignment will give more depth and will leave some room for a nice contrast in the composition.  I also plan to use lyrics from a number of his songs that I like for the composition.
